Sunda is no ordinary stool: the seat is woven from recycled paper fibres – a material that is much more stable than you might think and can easily withstand all everyday situations. The solid trembesi wood used for the frame also stands out from other tropical woods: it does not come from rainforests and, in addition to its durability, also impresses with its exceptional hardness and robustness.
Because the woven seat is slightly elastic, Sunda is very comfortable and also ideal for sitting on for long periods of time. This stool is not only an extra seat in your home, but also enriches it with its timeless design. The wood is simply finished with a transparent protective varnish to preserve the warm brown color. This way, Sunda fits harmoniously into any environment.

Trembesi is also known as the rain tree and is widely found throughout Southeast Asia, where it often grows on streets or in parks. Because the tree originally comes from South America, there is no need to cut down rainforest in Indonesia to produce wood: the fast-growing tree is usually found in urban areas, where it has been planted by human hands as an ornament. To limit its growth, the spreading branches are regularly cut down and the wood is used for furniture production. Our Trembesi comes from East Java. The wood is relatively similar to teak in terms of color and structure, but has a significantly better sustainability balance.
